Color Consultations are Done for Exteriors or Interiors of Residences, Commercial Properties, Churches or Civic Buildings.
Residential Color Consultations deal with home styles. They may be old or new. They may be: Tudors, Prairie Style, Classical Revival, Arts & Crafts, or another style. Each style makes use of particular colors and ways of putting color together. When shutters are the wrong scale or are used inappropriately, when colors are too loud or too bland, a home does not express its full potential. Our color consultations help save money by preventing expensive mistakes that confuse a homes look. Colors which look great in small color blocks often look completely different when used on large surfaces of a building.
We meet with clients for nearly two hours. During this time we talk about color, how the owner feels about particular colors, establish a color palate direction, and then select colors until the client is satisfied. Their combinations and how they relate to particular givens of their property are determined. What colors are the brick, the stone, the roof, permanent windows and any other given materials? What colors are neighboring homes?
After colors are selected, a rough sketch is done. Details are drawn in and numbered with specific colors i.e.: a paint by number type drawing completes the consultation. Some clients elect for us to do a professional Color Rendering. This becomes a frame able drawing and often includes extra details such as landscape changes or detail additions to enhance the look of a property.
Commercial Color Consultation & Painting:
Can be the difference between a dramatic commercial presence or a weak presentation. Commercial color should not overwhelm but should enhance the wares being displayed. This could be a backdrop for auto supplies, tools, women’s or men’s apparel. A restaurant is also a backdrop for customers. Are the colors such as enhance the activity it is used for. Is there a certain intrigue and drama that pulls you into the space. Commercial clients have told us that this is exactly what the end results have been with our color choices and placements. This may include something as simple as color striping, color washes or geometric color patterning.Color Consultations
Church Color Consultation and Painting is a frequent offering of our company. Be a church or spiritual space new or old we have dealt with many unique problems. Old churches sanctuaries have often been simplified, repainted, are pealing, or have problems that make them scary prospects for amateur painters. We have matched original colors on damaged stencil borders that have sent people’s heads spinning in efforts to find where our restorations have been done. They are so close to the original that many can not find our restoration work.
Our creative color schemes for 2 specific Mother churches in Kansas City, one Presbyterian and another Methodist, have transformed them to the point that their sanctuaries are now gaining new memberships and are drawing attention from the public sector. Colors used in both sanctuaries have respected the original architectural style but have given new life with dramatic faux antiquing and alive color combinations. Our knowledge of period colors and dramatic color effects has allowed us to excel with both of these churches.
New churches can be uninspired or overly plain hence we are called to enter in to solve the problem of what to do. Several new churches have been transformed by adding striping and changing colors around with additions of gilt stencils or banding to add a sense of a beautiful House of God. Sometimes the right color used in the right way can gain added drama at an affordable price. Feel free to look at our many photo images on our Gallery page.
Contemporary Color Consultations: For modern homes and commercial properties allow us to enhance the beauty and drama of today’s architecture. A number of our projects may be seen in Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza, Westport, Brookside Commercial Districts, and Commercial districts in St. Joseph, MO and Lincoln, NE.
